We are delighted to announce that Sudbury Academy Tryout Registration for the 2025-2026 season is now open for the 5th/6th grade squads (current 4th and 5th grade players) and 7th/8th grade squads (current 6th and 7th grade players).

Tryouts Will Take Place on May 12th - 15th at Haskell Field

If this program is not the best fit for your player, fall registration for regular travel teams without tryouts will be opening soon. Also, HS Academy for Grade 9-12 players will have tryouts in June.

To participate in the Academy Squad Tryouts, you MUST register first. There is no charge to register and tryout. Please select the appropriate link above to register. The schedule for the tryouts is below.

Please note that at registration, the grades listed are for the player’s grade in the fall, not now. Also, if players are trying out for the goalkeeper positions, there is a designated third day listed for these players. It is important that all registered players attend all assigned tryout dates.

New Programming for Next Season

Beginning this upcoming season, we will be introducing some exciting enhancements to the program to accelerate the growth, development and love of the game for our passionate players!

For the first time, 5th thru 8th grade Sudbury Academy Squads will play in the NECSL (New England Club Soccer League), as well as the traditional BAYS travel league.

This move fuses the benefit of additional contact time with flexibility to support our multi-sport athletes.

How Will it Work? Here are 5 Steps to Understand

1) Players who are selected for the Academy will make either a United or Gunners grade-based Academy Squad. These teams will train 2 nights a week and play games on Saturdays in the BAYS League.

2) Academy players will also be added to a birth year Academy Plus Squad and have the opportunity to play in the NECSL League (the NECSL is comprised of teams set by birth year and not by specific grades). These teams will train once a week and play games on Sundays.

3) Per usual, there is a 75% attendance policy for the Academy Squad.

4) Academy Plus is now built into the fee of the program to provide flexibility to some players while providing additional contact time for others. The cost is $1650 per player, covering the full season of combined fall and spring.

5) Attending the Academy Plus is NOT mandatory and will not adversely affect your attendance. It will continue to serve as a ”top up” to your child’s attendance should they have a conflict with the regular academy squad session or game.

Please feel free to contact Technical Director, Ross Duncan ([email protected]) or Academy VP, Anne Yazdani ([email protected]), if you have any questions about the Sudbury Academy program.

We welcome questions from those families at the current 4th grade level who may wish to understand what level of play is appropriate for their player. We look forward to seeing you at tryouts!
